Jonathan C. “Jon” Hitzman, MD began his career as a family practice physician in 1997. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology, and Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Illinois in 1981, & 1984. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College, Rush University of Chicago in 1988. He completed his Family Medicine Residency program in Redding California in 1991, and has been a Board Certified family doctor ever since, having to re-certify every 7 to 10 years. He and his wife, Jacquie moved their 4 daughters, Jessica, Alysha, Erica, and Larissa to Pendleton, and they consider Pendleton their true home. Jon, and another physician started Pendleton Family Medicine in 1999, although that partner has since left Pendleton in 2008. Jon now provides outpatient management of preventative medicine services, and cares for a variety of acute and chronic disease conditions. To maintain his own good health, you may see him walking all around town, while he tries to get in his 10,000 steps on most days. In his scarce free time, he has remodeled most of his house, he enjoys numerous outdoor activities, and occasionally brews some tasty home brew beer.
